Cathedral Update Thank you all for your patience and understanding in recent months. The Cathedral restoration is almost complete, and we pray that we can celebrate Mass inside next weekend, 10th September. As you can appreciate a great deal of work has happened over the summer, not just from a physical aspect in the Cathedral. Fr Kevin has generated a lot of support for the restoration from our generous community and we will continue meeting with parishioners before Advent. We wish to conduct the fundraising in as personal a manner as possible, so please await contact from Fr Kevin before making your decision. When called upon for your financial contribution please consider your involvement. Understanding much of the restoration has been accomplished fundraising is still necessary to fully complete the project. Our overall success is dependent on every parishioner participating. We look forward to unveiling the Cathedral next week showcasing this sacred place which will be cherished for generations to come.
Irish Graveyard Surveyors have been commissioned by the parish to survey the parish graveyards. The survey consists of mapping the graveyards giving each plot a plot number and indexing the names of all that are interred in the graveyards showing Last name, First name, Address, Year of death, Age at death and plot number. The details of each interment have been taken from the inscriptions on the headstones. The draft version is on display in Cullies, Butlersbridge & Killygarry Cemeteries. Please take time to examine it and check the information for spelling mistakes. As I am sure you can understand that compiling a large number of interments there could be unintentional spelling errors. Alteration sheets are available from the Presbytery which will allow you to have any spelling mistakes corrected. The alterations sheets also allow you to enter details like townland, month of death, year of death or each at death that do not appear on the headstone. All alteration sheets must include a phone number and signature or the changes will not be made. Any queries that you may have please contact Irish graveyards at 087-2076248 between 9-9 Monday to Friday where they will be glad to help you in anyway.
CHY3 FORMS It would be much appreciated if you could sign and return the CHY 3 form if one was included with your receipt.

Fr Kevin and the Presbytery staff wish Fr Martin well in his new ministry in Laragh.
THANKS TO ALL As I leave for my new parish in Laragh as PP this weekend, I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks to Bishop Martin Hayes, my brother priests in the Presbytery and all the hard-working staff who I had the privilege of working with during these last few years. Thanks to all the parishioners who I walked the journey of faith with. I remember all who I helped along the way who had bereavements as well. May their loved one’s rest in peace. I had a wonderful experience in these last 3 years, hopefully in this time it has helped me to prepare for pastures new. Best of luck and blessings to all involved in the reopening of the Cathedral next week. Pray for me as I pray for you. Fr Martin Gilcreest, PP Laragh.
