November 1st   There is a PRAYER SERVICE online at http://www.cavantownparish.com/webcam at 3pm to begin the month of prayer in our parish.  This service is taking place in the Cathedral as it is in all Cathedrals in our country.

November Offerings – Due to the fact that there are no public masses in our churches it would be advisable this year to leave the November List at the Presbytery.  This will enable us to place the November Lists in the Cathedral.  Masses will be said on the webcam throughout the month for all our faithful departed.

REMEMBRANCE TREE is in place in the sanctuary.  Labels are available to write the names of your loved ones whom you wish to remember during this month. Due to Covid 19 we ask you to bring your own pen/pencil.

 Nov 5th – Nov 11th:  REMEMBRANCE CANDLE

As we are having a Mass of Consolation on the 12th November it would be lovely if you could leave in a candle – with name or names of  deceased family member(s) on it -on the Altar rails during the week leading up to this Mass. These candles will be placed in our Sacred space for the remainder of the month of November.

Nov 12th:  MASS of CONSOLATION, 7pm

Update:  19 October 2020 Notice re Baptisms

The Irish Cancer Society’s Care to Drive service is currently seeking volunteer drivers to drive local patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in Cavan General Hospital.  They are looking for volunteers from all over Co. Cavan to pick local patients up at their homes, drive them to the door of the hospital, pick them up again when they are finished their treatment and bring them home.  The service is free to the patient and all drivers expenses are paid.  Telephone Rebecca on 01 2316 642 or email transport@irishcancer.ie   There are many patients who cannot get to their treatments for a number of reasons:
    1. Patients are living on their own with little or no immediate family support
    2. The patients family is not in the immediate vicinity
    3. The patients family cannot take time off work to bring them to and from the hospital (when the recession really hit, people became afraid of taking time off work)
    4. Patients are elderly and cannot drive (and their spouse cannot drive)
    5. The treatment is too aggressive and the patient has been advised not to drive

Lectio Divina Group  Everyone welcome to come to the Conference Room at the back of the Cathedral every Tuesday beginning Tue 10 Sept after the 10am Mass to study Sunday’s Gospel.

John Main Meditation Group   meet every Wednesday  at 7.30pm in the Holy Rosary Chapel.  Everyone welcome.
